 How to set Password Policy in PostMaster Enterprise v7

  1. Log into WebAdmin.

  2. Go to Local >> Core >> Password Policy.

  3. The first section is “Login Failure Policy

    • Enable this option by ticking the checkbox “Enable”.
    • Next to “No. Of Failure Attempts”, type in the number of attempts you wish to give the user before it locked the account due to incorrect password.
    • In “Disable Password After”, type in the number of that that the password would be disabled if not in use. (Value “0”, means do not disable.)
    • Next to “QuickMsg Alert” & “ Email Alert To”, tick the checkboxes accordingly to send alert.
  4. The second section “Password Expiry Policy”

    • Tick the checkbox to “Enable” the same.
    • Next to, “Password Expiry Every”, type in the number of days that you wish the users, password should expire.
    • Check the box next to “History Check Enable” and type in the number next to “History Check n Password”, this will check the history of last n number of password of a user. i.e. It wont allow his to reconfigured the password which was used last n number of times.
  5. The third section is “Password Format Policy”

    • Tick the checkbox next to “Enforce”, to enable the same.
    • In “Minimum Length”, type in the minimum length you want the users password to have.
    • In “Maximum Length”, type in the maximum length that the users password should have.
    • In the checkboxes next to “At Least 1 Char Required” e.g. ABC, “At Least 1 Number Required” e.g. 123 & “At Least 1 Symbol Required” e.g. @#&.
    • Select the options as per your requirement.

     

  6. The fourth section is “Password Check Policy”

    • One need to select the appropriate option here for which the password policy should be checked. i.e. PME WebMail or PME Mail or PME Web
