To Configure TCP/IP In Windows 9x:
Start the Windows 9X computer, and logon as administrator.
From the Windows desktop, click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network Icon.
The Network dialog is displayed.
Click the Configuration tab.
If the TCP/IP is already installed on the computer, you will see TCP/IP><Network Card Name>. In this case, proceed to Step 6.
If TCP/IP><Network Card Name> is not in the list of components, click Add.
The Select Network Component Type dialog is displayed.
o Select Protocol from the list and click Add.Â
   The Select Network Protocol dialog is displayed containing a list of protocols.
o Select Microsoft from the Manufacturers list,Â
   Click TCP/IP from the Protocols list.
o Click OK to return to the Network dialog.Â
   The TCP/IP>Network Card Name is updated in the list of components.
Click TCP/IP ><Network Card Name> in the list.
Click Properties.Â
The TCP/IP Properties dialog is displayed. Enter the details of the IP settings of the computer here.
o Click the IP Address tab.
o Click Specify an IP address.
o Type the IP address of the computer.
o Type the sub-net mask of the network in Sub-net mask.
o Click OK.
Click Yes if you are now prompted to restart the computer.
